The idea goes back to the old west. Simplify your ammo needs by going with one cartridge that will fire in both your rifle and handgun.

So what would you choose? Name the model of the rifle/carbine and handgun and pick your cartridge that would be fired in both.

I would go with an Olympic Arms AR-15 and Glock 20 SF in 10mm. If someone made a carbine for the 9x25 Dillon, then better yet.

Ok here we go.. I know what the 2nd amendment is. The right to bear arms but with that being said what does that really mean? Does that mean having the right to carry any weapon we want as long as we have the license for it or is there a point when enough is enough? This is what i think. Hunters can own hunting rifles and everyone else can own handguns if they so choose but really there is no need foa a semi automatic rifle or ak47 on the american street unless there is some military action here which is highly unlikely. My point is this: Americans have the right to have guns but there comes a point when enough is enough. No citizen of any country should be able to outgun any law enforcement. now let me know what you think ok? try to actually leave smart comments and not reduce yourselves to childish attacks of my character.. thanks.

.308 vs .30-06 vs 300 win mag vs .338?
which of these will meet my requirments and why...

i want good power adn low recoil on a pistol and best accuracy to 500 yards i originally thaught of getting 308 but just wanna know wats best for accuracy and best groups you know over all best performing and yes i will use it for deer and dont care what i should really use it for and the handgun is a tc encore pistol that shoots rifle rounds so dont be sayin dat there is no handgun that shoots rifle rounds
and why would people choose 30-06 over 308? if 30-06 is better than why dosnt the military use it instead the 308? and i heard that 308 shoots flatter than 30-06 so wat does that mean?

Sig P229 .40

Glock 27
Glock 32 .357

Beretta 8000 Cougar

these are part of my 'toys' but i can only put 3 guns on my license.
Help, please.

We have the right to bear arms -- does this mean Obama is going to buy me whatever handguns, machine guns, or rifles I want?

We have the right to freedom of speech -- does this mean Obama is going to pay for my Internet connection so I can post my speech, buy me a newspaper or broadcasting company so I can broadcast my thoughts?

The constitution and bill of rights specify rights that are extended to all -- however these documents do not say the government (or anyone else) is obligated to fund anyone that chooses to exercise their right.

Our health care system is already more than adequate -- anyone has the right to receive care. Whether they are going to have the means to pay for said care is another story. I wonder if those people wish they would have applied themselves in school instead of smoking pot, dropping out and leeching off the taxpayers?

Gillian, I'm not talking about people that would buy insurance if they were able to. I'm talking about free loaders. The government can regulate the insurance companies to require them to provide coverage to people with pre-ex rather than trying to have the govt run everything and foot the entire bill at the cost of taxpayers.

A friend shared this with me in an email and I thought it was worth sharing with others. It's a bit lengthy, but worth reading, I think anyways. Thanks in advance for your answers. God bless.

What would you say if I gave you 11 reasons why the elections in 2010 will be the most important in the history of the United States ?

1. What if I had told you in October 2008, before the last presidential election, that before Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, the federal government would be in control of both the mortgage and the banking industries? That 19 of America 's largest banks would be forced to undergo stress tests by the federal government which would determine if they were insufficiently capitalized, so they must be supervised by the government?

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America ."

2. What if I had told you that within Barack Obama's first 100 days in office the federal government would be the largest shareholder in the US Big-Three automakers: GM, and Chrysler? That the government would kick out the CEO's of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined, not by a Board of Directors, but by the government?

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

3. What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 21 Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, not to the voters, who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions. That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar, a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar, an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

4. What if I had told you that the federal deficit would be $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of $1.75 trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats. That congress would pass Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010... That the projected deficit over the next ten years would be greater than $10 trillion.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

5. What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan . That Obama would order the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition of the 200-plus individuals held there. That several of the suspected terrorists at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense of the US government. That our returning US veterans would be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

6. What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public.

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"

7. What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America 's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela 's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America .

Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"

8. Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing his phrases like state-run media in communist countries?

Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"

9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose
for self-defense.

Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"

10. What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US citizen.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

11. What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come.

I know, I know what you will say. "That will never happen in America !"

Thank you

Springfield XD seems to be a real good one
Ruger SR9 is excellent but only comes in 9mm
Glock 17 is a well proven gun, but I'm not yet convinced its the best.
Sig P220 is good but a bit on the expensive side (and has a fat grip)
I don't know a lot about Para-Ordnance, but it seems ok.
And its impossible to find a plain and straight 1911 anywhere.
I'm looking for something to backpack with (The greenies insist we keep the wolves in the NW and now they're out of control with 400+ just in my county..) so I need something light, but also good for personal home defense.
I don't really like the 9mm, its ok if necessary but I prefer something larger like a .40 or .45
What do you guys think, recommend, what are your opinions? Any comments are welcome.

preferably horror or action

my set has to be inside my house
i have a green screen
and/or the forrest behind my house

i have very good editing software and am able to do pretty much anything.

im looking for an idea. plz help me out i will choose best answer.
thats the problem you dumb shit. i have no idea what to make... thats why im asking this question...

I see everyone praising RE5, and I can't figure out why. I look at it the same way i look at the movie series. They're good, but the fact that they put they name "Resident Evil" on something that is absolutely nothing like resident evil should be makes the game garbage to me. Everyone keeps saying "embrace the change," but if the next Die Hard movie was a romantic comedy, everyone would hate it. Why should games be different?

I've been a fan of the series ever since the original came out on the playstation, and there are several reasons this game isn't Resident Evil to me. First off, there are several things that make a Resident Evil game a Resident Evil game. Zombies, Tyrants, Typewriters, Herbs, and a timer counting down to an explosion at the end of the game. RE5 had the herbs, that was it. While RE4 didn't have zombies, i'll forgive it because the game hinted that zombies would be back at the end.

I could go on, but my biggest beef is that the plot is, there's no other word for it. Wrong. Wesker is some super-human test tube baby experiment, although it's already been established that he got his super powers from a virus. The T virus came from african plants, even though it's already been established that it came from leeches. Oswell E Spencer was the head of Umbrella, although it was already established that the Ashfords started Umbrella.
Resident Evil is supposed to be, at its core, a Survival Horror game. Despite being largely action based, RE4's attache case still limited your inventory space, which still preserved the horde-and-conserve mindset that is really what RE is all about. RE5 even managed to kill this. Sure, you can only have 9 items per level, but seeing as you have unlimited inventory space and simply choose your items between levels and every time you die, 999 handgun bullets are never more than ten minutes away. And, as you can replay levels, it's actually rather EASY to get that many bullets.

I really wanted to like this game, but as a loyal RE fan, I can't see anything worth liking. The gameplay is just like every other action title available, beyond the main character having a partner and the herbs, there are literally none of the Resident Evil staples in the game, and aside from the plot of the game not making sense for the Resident Evil series, it straight up ignores the previous Resident Evil Cannon. So, please, tell me what the big deal is? And if your excuse would be "I like this game because I didn't like the other Resident Evils and this one made it fun for me," don't answer. If you like this game because it's different from the other ones, that means that you don't like resident evil, and not to be rude, you can't tell me anything I want to hear. In fact, the mere fact that they're now making Resident Evil games for people who are not Resident Evil fans kind of proves my point. It is a good game, and with another title i'd love it. But I can't see a single thing that makes it a good Resident Evil game, and if someone can help me see why everyone says it's the best in the series, I'd love to know. As far as i'm concerned, it doesn't even exist.

I went to a gun store yesterday afternoon, and was interested in buying a gun for when I get my conceal carry permit in two weeks. I didn't buy anything because I don't know what to consider and what to stay away from. I also don't want to spend more than $600. I don't want a wheel gun or anything like that.
I really want something that is powerful but easy to control.
The salesman told me that I should decide between a 9mm, 357 auto, 40 caliber, and 45 caliber.
Which is better?
I'm 24 years old, and have only fired a wheel gun using 38 special. I'm inexperienced with semi auto's, but I'm only interested in those.
I am scheduled to take my ccw classes on August 19th and August 20th. First day is class, second is range. I live in Coshocton , Ohio

I feel like my niece has brain washed her mom. She has over the last 3 years had so many instances where lies in order to get her way. Lied when she was sixteen that she was afraid to ride from school with her grandma because she was not a safe driver and she needed a car of her own. She lied again to tell her mom that her grandma called her evil. This was a ploy to pit her mom against her mother. If my sister questions her or appears to not believe her, she makes her feel quilty and then the control is once again in my nieces court. She lied about her boyfriend and that he lived with his mom. She made up all of these lies about her visits there to help confirm her main lie. I had someone to tell me had his own place, so I researched it and found that he had his own place. She found out that I had been to his hometown and screamed and cried that I did not believe her and that I was wrong. My sister believed her and I never mentioned it again. Now my niece tells these suttle lies to keep her mom and I from doing things together. Well she recently got married small wedding and I helped her mom with the outside reception. She did not even acknowledge what I had done with a thank you. I was sad for her mom because I could tell she was embarrassed that her daughter was being rude. Now I have just received a call asking if I have any cards in my car from the guests at the reception. She told her mom to check with me because she had put some in my car before guests got to the gift table. This was not possible because I carry a concealed handgun and keep my car locked at all times. I see this as another ploy by my niece to ruin another relationship of her mom's. I explained this to my sister, but she has a hard time telling her daughter that she don't believe her. I in no way want my sister to choose between her daughter or me, but all this lying has made my sister's personality change from outgoing and confident to withdrawn and unsure of herself. It is like she fears have to rebuke her daughters words. How can I help? I want my confident sister back.

I am either going to buy a tv or a handgun. The tv and gun I want cost about the same. What would you choose?
And Why? ...

Well I'm looking to buy my first handgun. I'm looking at the s&w sw9ve or the sw40ve. Same price...looks like the both have good reviews (besides heavy trigger pull) But whats the better buy? 40cal is more powerful but the 9mm is more accurate and has less recoil. I'm thinking of getting the 40...most police agencies use it...and I do plan on becoming a police officer. Any thoughts...or advice. (I have shot before to have not shot a 40 though)
I know some of you are saying to buy a glock but 2 things. Its not in my price range. 2nd is I will not buy a used gun

P226
1911
Glock (17, 18 or 34)
Desert Eagle
M9
USP
MK23

In order from most best (in overall rating, such as looks and performance and etc) to worst. Thanks :P

Which 9mm handgun is better in terms of accuracy, reliability, and overall performance?
Between these two, which would you choose?

The UK has very tight handgun laws, but a friend of mine makes good money secretly shipping handguns to buyers in the UK. His buyers prefer to do business with him rather than the Eastern European gangsters because my friend is not a gangster; he's a legitimate businessman who does this on the side, and he always provides high-quality products and ammunition.

What is my possible legal exposure if I get into this business, assuming I don't go visit the UK myself (since, obviously, I AM breaking UK domestic laws)?

Philosophically, I don't feel that the UK has the legal right to regulate the manner in which its citizens choose to defend themselves, so, on a moral basis, I feel quite fine doing this.
I don't feel it is moral for any nation to ban the private ownership of handguns. That's MY decision.

Great gun-grab scam

To the editor:

Also known as H.R. 45 (Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) this was introduced by Rep Bobby Rush, a Democrat from Illinois. All gun owners should be very angry about this, as it will affect all handguns and rifles with removable magazines. If the Democrat-controlled administration can get this through, they will be after the rest of the guns.

Make no mistake, if this gets to the president, he will jump at the chance to sign it.

This administration has the worst record ever when it comes to our Second Amendment rights. This administration will wage war on our Second Amendment rights.

If you are not a gun owner, you should be terrified as well. This is a blatant shot at the destruction of the Constitution. Our civil rights and liberties have been slowly eroding during the years and at a much faster rate since 9/11.

The passage of this bill would be a major blow.

The intent of H.R. 45 is to make it too much trouble to comply with the rules (there is a test by the way) or make you an instant criminal if you do not.

Consider that you will have to have a license and pay a fee set by the U.S. Attorney General. It will start cheap, but once they have your information, then he can set the fee at whatever he chooses.

Keep in mind this bypasses your congressmen and senators; this decision is left to one man who can be under a lot of pressure from the president. You will have to renew this license every five years, you will have to notify the AG if you move, and you will have to notify the AG almost immediately if your gun is lost or stolen. You will have to provide, at minimum, a thumbprint and any and all mental health records.

All of these provisions can be changed at the whim of the AG’s office. Registration is the first step towards confiscation.

For you “pry the guns from your cold, dead fingers” people, it is less messy and painful to write or call your representatives. Do it soon. Tell them no amendments or compromises. They need to kill the bill totally. If they get swamped on this issue, they will have no choice but to act as needed.

Make it clear that you will be following this bill and their actions on it.

You also may want to use the links below to check out H.J. Res. 5. This is an attempt to repeal the 22nd article of amendment to the constitution, Removing the law that lets the president serve only two terms.

Can you spell dictator?

Please use the links shown below to check this out, and bookmark them so you can return to them and use them again.

Stay informed.

Change anyone?

John Williams
"For a people who are free and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security. It is, therefore, incumbent on us at every meeting [of Congress] to revise the condition of the militia and to ask ourselves if it is prepared to repel a powerful enemy at every point of our territories exposed to invasion... Congress alone have power to produce a uniform state of preparation in this great organ of defense. The interests which they so deeply feel in their own and their country's security will present this as among the most important objects of their deliberation."

I am thinking of buying a gas air soft handgun I have narrowed it down to either the Beretta M9 or P226 the problem is I don't know what make I should choose or which one i should get, I am looking for Precision and how realistic the gun looks, Any suggestions?

I want something that conceals comfortably in a iwb holster.
I'm only interested in Glocks (I have experience shooting my neighbors' 9mm, 40 cal, and 45.) I found that Glock feels best in my hand.
Hopefully, someone can either ease, or confirm my worries about each caliber, and help me decide on what might be best.
I was trying to decide between these Glock handguns:

Glock 19: I've heard that Glock specializes in the 9mm, but I'm worried about lack of stopping power.

Glock 23: I've heard the 40 cal is an almost perfect self defense round, but I'm worried about it's ability to penetrate as good as a 9mm. (For me, I want superior penetration, along with good expansion).

Glock 30: From what I read, the 45 caliber offers excellent stopping power. However, I'm worried that the short barrel slows down the bullet, and I'm concerned about lack of penetration and lack of expansion.

Glock 32: I've heard that the 357 sig has extreme penetration, but I'm worried that it is expensive, and hard to find at local stores (especially in an emergency).

I've also held a Glock 29 at my nearest gunstore, but the grip is way to big for my hands (I have small hands).
I'm scheduled to take my CCW class in the beginning of next month.
I really want a caliber that penetrates between at least 15"-18"

I have to write a cause and effect essay for english (I'm in college) and I am faced with 11 choises I cannot seem to choose from....

-taxing cars on the basis of fuel consumption
-reinstituting the military draft
-legalizing marajuana
-mandatory licencing of handguns
-raising the mandatory fuel efficiency of cars
-cloning humans
-abolishing grades for college courses
-raising minimum wage
-mandatory community service (one year) for all 18-year olds
-banning the use of pesticides on produce
and
-requiring an ethnics course in college

I am more than sure I will not be doing #'s 1,2,3,5,8, 9,or 11.... and cloning humans I don't know too much about (I guess Kyle XY didn't teach me much in that area..) but it is something that interests me....

which should I choose...

im about to invest in a handgun for self defense purposes and i was wondering how powerful is the 9mm? i know it uses a .35 bullet and of course the .40s&w and the .45 are bigger, heavier bullets but i also know that 9mm comes in 3 pressure "standard' "+p" and "+p+" and i hear that agencies including boder patrol and the secret service used to utillize the 115 grain +p jacketed hollow point bullet for their duty round. so give me you alls opinions on the 9mm and would you choose to have one in your personal collection

I have a few questions about black powder revolvers. With muzzle loading revolvers it is recommended that you used black powder as the propellant and a ball as the bullet. However I would like to know if pyrex pellets could replace the black powder and a sabot to replace the ball bullet. First I am concerned with te plastic piece the falls off of the sabot after it leaves the barrel. In a revolver the bullet has to jump a small gap so I am worried that the plastic piece may fall off early, maybe damaging the gun. Also pyrex is a much more reliable but more powerful of a propellant. Could pyrex be too much for a handgun? Could it be dangerous? Also I have a bullet finding delema. Many muzzleloading revolvers are .44 caliber balls. I can only find .45 caliber sabots. If I choose to try and use pyrex and sabots can I use .45 caliber bullets?

What do you think about this?

1. Many criminals may be emboldened for recent election results.
2. We all need a "lighten up" a tad.
DRILL SERGEANT JOE B. FRICK'S RULES FOR A GUN, KNIFE, BASEBALL BAT OR FIST FIGHT
1. Forget about knives, bats and fists. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring four times the ammunition you think you could ever need.
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammunition is cheap - life is expensive. If you shoot inside, buckshot is your friend. A new wall is cheap - funerals are expensive
3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.
5. Move away from your attacker and go to cover. Distance is your friend. (Bulletproof cover and diagonal or lateral movement are preferred.)
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a semi or full-automatic long gun and a friend with a long gun.
7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running. Yell "Fire!" Why "Fire"? Cops will come with the Fire Department, sirens often scare off the bad guys, or at least cause then to lose concentration and will.... and who is going to summon help if you yell "Intruder," "Glock" or "Winchester?"
9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun.
10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
11. Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
12. Have a plan.
13. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work. "No battle plan ever survives 10 seconds past first contact with an enemy."
14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible, but remember, sheetrock walls and the like stop nothing but your pulse when bullets tear through them.
15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
16. Don't drop your guard.
17. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees. Practice reloading one-handed and off-hand shooting. That's how you live if hit in your "good" side.
18. Watch their hands. Hands kill. Smiles, frowns and other facial expressions don't (In God we trust. Everyone else keep your hands where I can see them.)
19. Decide NOW to always be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
20. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
21. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet if necessary, because they may want to kill you.
22. Be courteous to everyone, overly friendly to no one.
23. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
24. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which starts with anything smaller than "4".
25. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. "All skill is in vain when an Angel blows the powder from the flintlock of your musket." At a practice session, throw you gun into the mud, then make sure it still works. You can clean it later.
26. Practice shooting in the dark, with someone shouting at you, when out of breath, etc.
27. Regardless of whether justified or not, you will feel sad about killing another human being. It is better to be sad than to be room temperature.
28. The only thing you EVER say afterwards is, "He said he was going to kill me. I believed him. I'm sorry, Officer, but I'm very upset now. I can't say anything more. Please speak with my attorney."
Finally, Drill Sergeant Frick's Rules For Un-armed Combat.
1: Never be unarmed.
2: If you have your hands, your feet, your mind and your Spirit as an American Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or Coastie, you are never unarmed.

"6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a semi or full-automatic long gun and a friend with a long gun."
6.a You may find yourself in a situation where you are armed only with a handgun.
6.b Handguns are very useful if you become involved in a fight on the way to get your long arm.

A few tactical pointers.
1) Go around corners wide, not narrow like they do on TV. Wide lets you see them before they see you, no matter where they are around the corner. Use a ruler, pencil, and piece of paper to prove this to yourself.
2) Firing a gun sideways has saved more lives than emergency rooms. It looks neat in the movies, but you do not hit your target.
3) Inside, it is far better to be prone, shooting up, than be standing up and

When the world falls into chaos what will be your weapon of choice?
I would choose an AK-47 and a .45 handgun/.357 magnum

Is this story OK, since I'm only in S1??

Assassin

The sound of the Lotus Elise boomed through Edinburgh. Jack Smith, the man behind the wheel, was risking his life. He was chasing The Enemy, who had just escaped from the local mental hospital. Jack’s car had two shattered windows. Drifting through the streets of Edinburgh was tough. Jack got out his M4 Custom and fired at The Enemy’s wheels. The tires shattered and The Enemy went flying into a steel girder. The car blew up.

In USA, Jack had just received his newest mission. There was a truck that had been stolen, Jack had to get it back. The truck was rigged with explosives. It was parked at the local wal-mart. Jack smashed the window of the truck then hot-wired it. There was a tunnel near-by, so Jack decided to park the truck there. Jack sprinted away from the truck, then it blew up.

“Who do you think you are!?” said the MI6 Leader. “I’m Jack Smith. Who the hell are you sir?” Jack replied. “This is no time for funny business! You almost killed seven innocent civilians ! Do you know how much grief we would get is someone died!?” The MI6 Leader boomed. “I’ll try my best not to do anything harmful next time.” Jack said. “You’re right, you won’t do anything next time. There won’t be a next time. You’re fired.” The MI6 Leader said.

After Jack’s firing, he decided to join the US MI5. His first mission there seemed tough. He had to assassinate the US president, but the president wasn’t really the president, he was a terrorist from Al Qaeda, sent to destroy America.

For this mission, Jack got to choose some gadgets of his choice. He chose a handgun, an SVD, an M2 Flamethrower, grenades and an RPG-7.

Jack was booked into the Hilton Washington. He took his favourite car- the Lamborghini Gallardo.
At the reception desk he got checked into the Presidential Suite at the top of the hotel. “Classy place,” Jack said. “I could get used to this.” He put his room key in the keyhole, but something wasn’t right, the door was already unlocked. Usually hotel room doors were locked. He steadily walked in and sat his bang on the king-sized bed.

Someone whacked Jack across the back of his head. He stumbled to the ground in pain. He got turned around but kicked the attacker in the stomach. Jack got up and thrust the palm of his hand into the attacker’s face, grabbed him by the neck and put him in a choke-hold until the attacker was dead.

The unknown attacker was wearing a full face mask. Jack ripped off the mask and the attacker looked somewhat like Al Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden. Jack quickly phoned MI5 to inform them of what happened. He was asked to keep a lookout on the White House. To do this he had to climb to the roof of the Hilton and use either binoculars or the sniper he picked up a couple of days ago.

It was hard getting to the roof. Jack had stealthily sneaked past eightsecurity guards and knocked out two, but he had eventually got to the top. He decided to use the SVD to the binoculars to lookout the White House. He kept track of the ‘presidents’ doings on a PDA. There was no ammunition in the sniper, incase Jack accidently shot. At the moment, the President was talking to his wife.

Jack decided to throw a grenade to distract the attention of the White House guards. Immediately, all attention was moved from the White House so Jack used the x20 scope to get a view of the President. There was a guard blocking the window last time. Jack could see clearer that the President was holding an M4 Custom in his hand. Not right.

“The President was holding an M4 Custom. Scoped, full ammunition.” Jack said. “This is strange, why would someone sell a gun to the President?” the MI5 Leader replied. “I don’t know.” Jack said softly, “but I’ll find out.” He hung up the phone.

Jack got out his binoculars and looked outside. Everything seemed normal- dogs urinating on the street, people walking, but there were three men packing explosives into a truck. Jack picked up his handgun and a silencer. He jumped out the window onto a balcony then jumped the remaining fifteen storeys and landed in a huge pile of sand. Jack sprinted to the truck whilst attaching the silencer to the handgun. He got to the truck and shot the three men. He then closed the back of the truck and broke into the drivers seat. He hotwired the big eighteen wheeler and drove off. He parked in a dark alleyway and bolted to safety. The huge eighteen wheeler blew up and made a huge smoke cloud in the sky.

“When should I kill?” Jack anxiously said. “There is a lice conference being held in a couple of days. Then will be the perfect time. Stand at the top of the local highest building, your hotel to be precise. Use your sniper and aim for the head, preferably between the eyes. You cannot mess this up, if you do, MI5 will be on the news for all the wrong reasons. Good luck.” The MI5 leader said. The phone went dead.

Lots of preparation went into this assassination. Guns purchase

The gun would be used primarily as a concealed carry arm. Its secondary uses would be as a hunting sidearm, and recreational shooting. I have cut down my options to the following. which would you choose?

raven mp25 - I am well aware of its limitations, but I have a fetish for cheap arms and I'm poor

kel tec p11. Fires a descent cartridge, but Im not sure about using it for recreation. A heavy cartridge in such a light gun couldn't possibly be fun

kel tec p3at - seems well rounded. I like the .380, but I have yet to actually find one in a store

kel tec p32. Same as above except in 32 acp except I have actually seen them around.

generic snub nose revolver in 38spl - More reliable, good cartridge. I love the aura of this gun, yet Im not sure about having much fun with it.

Which one would you choose and why?
I know my way around long arms, so Im not completely gun ignorant.
I obviously know Im not going to take a deer with a .25, but watching a deer bleed out while it suffers is something I like to avoid.

Im not interested in a glock, 1911, or anything that costs over 300-400 dollars.

I am a civilian. The gun is for concealed carry. I am experienced with long arms, and know my way around a firearm.
steven - I have actually fired all but the the 380, and I AM looking for your opinions before I make a final decision.

as a pro-gun person that chooses not to hunt animals, i find it appualing that liberals (not all, only the hardcore ones) are against handgun ownership for civilians to target shoot and protect thier homes, but believe that hunters have the right to own gun to shoot innocent deer and large game. i love going to the range and shooting for fun with my dad and my friends with my semi-atuo pistols and high caliber rifles just to see who is the better shot, just like people do in archery, and no one gets hurt because it is done in a safe, controlled setting. anyone else feel this way? NOTE: i am not against hunting, i just dont do it.

Hey guys, I've been looking into .22LR handguns and I need help choosing one. I recently shot a Walther P22 and I fell in love with it, but I've seen prices going up. Up too 400$ for them.

Then I thought how about a revolver. I want a double action with swing out barrel. It would be good if it was under 300$ and well made in the .22LR.

So here are my questions.
1. What is a well made double action .22LR revolver under 300$
2. What's more accurate a revolver or handgun.
3. And whats more reliable a revolver or handgun.
Do you have any suggestions?
And thanks

It was hard but I finally sold my Beretta, I loved it, it never acted up or anything, I just wanted to get a brand new gun. But after going to the gun store i came home with nothing. To many to chose from but not enough money for all. I have 4 guns in mind that i cant decide from. A (glock 23), (SA XD 45 with thumb safety) (FNP 40) and finally (Taurus 1911 w/rail) which would you choose.

I want to buy a glock handgun, and want to know which I should choose for the best stopping power. (9mm, 357 sig, 40 s&w 45 acp or 10mm)? In which order are these calibers best.

I'm looking to buy a handgun. I want to use it mainly for home defense but would also like to be able to carry it if I choose to get a CC permit. I don't want to buy 2 different guns. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might fit both of my needs. It doesn't matter if it's a 9mm, .40 cal, .45 cal, etc. I'd like manufactuers and actual models that people have. I've looked at Ruger, Glock, Springfield, S&W, Taurus, and para ordinance. I really don't want to spend more than $500 or so. Any input is appreciated.

I am the owner of a Defensive Handgun Course in Arizona, but what is your favorite pistol? Why should we use that pistol to train people?

I am thinking about having a Colt 1911 or a basic Beretta 92. Both guns I have training in, as they are the most common. Although I do not know what to choose.

The Colt 1911 would be better than a Beretta 92 because of the cartridges. The .45 ACP has a higher velocity than the 9mm (9x19mm), but for defense outside of the class I would highly recomend a Beretta 92 (or any 9mm Pistol).

Thank You - I would appriciate intelligent replies, and knowledge in this subject would help a lot.
I'll point it out again for those who can't read.

Is it OK to believe it is the right of U.S. citizens to own handguns for self defense, but choose not to own one myself? Or do I have to own a handgun to believe in this right?

The Murder File I

         Chapter 1     Get away from me!  11:57 P.M. 11-5-2010

At around midnight in the big city, they yell from bullets can really distract a guy. Even though the city, Telecon, has the world’s greatest police force, gangsters will try and fail. But today the bullets were louder. George Bond happened to be really distracted! He had learned about what do to if someone did invade his house: He would go to his bedroom and grab his pistol. If more then three or four invaded, in his attic he kept a shotgun. Then all of a sudden like a plane running right by you his door nearly exploded. Men in black suits came in and started shooting bullets everywhere. George saw about seven so he ran up to his attic, only to find more men! One grabbed his arm and pulled him forward. The man’s face was pale, like a dead man’s. He kicked his coconuts and ran back to his room. Even more were there! The house was infected with this disease! “ Get away from me!” He screeched. Then all of a sudden out of the swarm of bullets got his leg and another in his arm. Out of pain and fear, plus blood loss he was knocked out! He was never heard of again!

         Chapter 2 Race against the Force 11:12 P.M. 11-12-2010

Ever noticed that a couple glasses of wine are like a couple of mosquito bites? Once you start to scratch a bite, the burning and itching starts to happen. Well, Ben Brady, detective for Telecon was no deferent. He had just come to the restaurant to look over some notes about last weeks kidnapping and possible murder. He had heard about it on the news while he was at his house. He had questioned some neighbors the day later and came up with three notes:

The men were pale like zombies or men with colds
They used police handguns and cars and other weapons
They were heading for the border of the next state, Washington

Ben Brady looked down at his 9mm handgun. Nobody knew he had it so; he at a snail's pace reloaded it. Then all of a sudden an alarm went off. Police cars surrounded the area. He hid the handgun; of what he thought triggered the alarm. As he turned around a zombie looking man came in with an assault rifle. He started killing innocent children and parents. Ben Brady fired his handgun pack hitting two times out of two. The bizarre man turned and looked at Ben. Ben popped another shot and blew the man’s head off. Then all of a sudden, south of nowhere men in ballistic shields compressed this hellish place, flouting the windows. Ben Brady again crooked in an angle and popped three bullets. As the third one slammed into a zombie, he was grabbed from behind. Another group of zombies had managed to get inside. He had face gang members before, even stopped an American Gang meeting and also sabotaged a Gang and Terrorist Nuclear Missile sale. Then all of a sudden as Ben looked back at all of his memories of fighting to protect the planet, an AK-47 assault rifle blasted everywhere. Brady dove under a table as glasses exploded. He took out the guns magazine and replaced it with another one, full of bullets. He got up and fired thrice. The zombie monster swaggered up and fired a the rest of his clip. Brady watched the zombie with his gun. Then another wave of zombies compressed the entire building firing bullets everywhere. Ben choose to jump over to the bartenders side of the bar. Surprisingly, a shotgun with ten shells was right under the bar, in case of a fight. He grabbed it and loaded it up quickly and fired at zombie monsters and started blowing heads off. Finally after blowing about twelve heads off with those ten shells he was now out of any hope. He started clubbing zombies with his shotgun but it had little effect. The zombies now grabbed at him and started putting sleeping injections into his body. Then a whole bunch of shotguns and pistols were fired. He couldn't tell if police officers were helping or if he was being executed. More injections were put into his skin. Finally, a swarm of bullets it the zombies around him and clouded up his vision. He tried to round up his strength into is feet and did a roundhouse kick. A bullet then smothered his torso in blood and another one on his arm mimicked. He tried to draw his gun and ended up scratching at his wound. Another bullet hit his leg and he blacked out completely.

Chapter 3 British Zombies 8:00 P.M. 11-14-2010

Brady thrust his eyelids open to see he was in some sort of dark woods you see in those cheesy scary movies. But, this is not a cheesy horror movie, but a cheesy horror book about a young detective who faces zombies and shoots them. He also has to find who killed the victim.

Ben not knowing what happened to him was lucky to find a green apple and a Tommy Gun right beside him. He took a gigantic mouthful of the apple and found it sweet. Then he though “ How can I of all people in this world be lucky to find a gun and food.” Then it hit him, literally! A foo

Ok, I will be getting a new 'toy' this Holiday but I have a dilemma. Now I don't know what model or brand of gun it would be, but I am either going to buy a .12 gauge pump shotgun (likely a Mossberg 500) or a 9mm handgun (Likely a Sig or Makarov).

I've been trying to weigh the pros and cons of both of them against eachother, here's what I can think of right now:

Shotgun pros:
-Simple action
-Fun as Hell
-Destructive
-Loud
-Looks Badass (hehe)
-Easy to clean(?)
-Large variety of ammos

Shotgun Cons:
-Expensive ammo
-Recoil can be a ****
-Not a good plinker obviously

Pistol Pros:
-Compact
-Can also be used as defense
-CHEAP AMMO
-I have a pistol fetish
-Cheap mags
-Can actually be used as a target practice weapon

Pistol Cons:
-Weak round (compared to other calibers)
-Could become obsolete
-May be prone to breakdown
-Good ones are expensive

Hope you guys can help me choose.
When I said "obsolete" I meant me getting bored of shooting it, which is what happened with my .22.

And someone wanted to know what I would be using it for; just plinking and shooting things.

I want to buy a pistol, i just don't know what to chose.
I got so many options like, Para Ord, AMT, Sig, Glock, Kimber etc.....
Are there any legal issues concerned ?

e.g.,. gun ownership and conceal-carry, the right not to have to pay someone else's medical bills, legalization of marijuana, the right of stores to offer whatever shopping bags they want to offer, the right of homeowners to use regular incandescent lightbulbs?

There are many, many activities that harm no one else but that some busybodies seek to ban.

One of those activities is gay marriage.

Many supporters of gay marriage seek to ban or limit some of these other activities.

Does it occur to gays that, if they want the rest of us to support their right to do what THEY want to do, they should support our rights to do what WE want to do?

I think you should be allowed to have sex with - and marry - any consenting adult you want. It's what you want to do, it harms no one else, you should be allowed to do it, and others who find it distasteful or against their personal values should not get to use government to impose their values.

But likewise, there are a lot of things that I want to do and some of them are under attack from people wanting to impose THEIR values by banning or raising taxes on those things.

So can we make a deal?

Your sex life and marriage is none of my business....

.....and what kind of lightbulb or shopping bag I use, and whether I choose to support a total stranger, or own and carry a handgun, those are none of YOUR business.....

Do we have a deal? Or is "equality" not what you're really after?

No, avid booklover, the only difference is one is what you want to do and one is what I want to do.

One offends your values and one offends someone else's.

Either you're for or against the government imposing one set of values on everyone.

It's not different when you do it.
It's not different just because it's your values being imposed.
Um no red state, YOU would have done nothing apparently.
And please, putting products made of oil back into the ground, which is where we get..... oil...... doesn't "destroy the planet."

even as "Consenting to death of someone" in certain situations...for example:

Is this an example of not imposing your morality on someone?

similar situation/ ex: A woman with a taser comes up behind you and shocks you, you fall helpless onto the ground and she pulls out a
knife ready to cut your throat (you are helpless and innocent)....But another person who saw what happened has a concealed
handgun...they saw what was going on and have pulled out their handgun to defend you...
but then they think to themself...hmmm...
who am I to impose my morality on the woman who is murdering the innocent person? Personally I wouldn't kill anyone, but if they
choose to kill someone...then who am I to stop them, she has control over her own body...I should be tolerant....It is survival of the fittest
after all...the weak and helpless will just have to die....even if they are innocent....after all I am safe and that is all that
matters...and then the person with the gun puts their handgun away and goes and minds their own business...as you get stabbed.

so was the person with the gun right to "not impose their morals" in that situation...or could it be interpreted instead as "cowardly" or "apathetic" or even "consenting to the death of an innocent person"?
freyjaa - I wrote it that way intentionally, so anyone can see the relationship to the topic of "Abortion" easily....but think about it in a different way (it took a few extra words...)
Panda Bear - that is why I wrote into the question (in parethesis) that the person being killed is (innocent and helpless), so there would be no confusion for the hypothetical scenario.
Godl. Hea. - So, you seem to think it is a good and a moral thing to stop the killing it seems (in this situation), SO can you see the transferable situation of this, with the same situation of a helpless, innocent baby/fetus about to be killed? and those trying to stop abortions being accused of "imposing their morals" on others...

I'm getting ready to go to the academy, and I'm not sure which firearm would be a better choice. The two I've narrowed it down to are Glock and Sig. Also, which caliber is best. I can choose between 9mm, .40 and .45

I live in a very rural area so it's not easy to locate or visit a gun dealer, so I'll try to describe what I've looking for with probably more detail than needed and welcome any and all advice.

I've taken a handgun course in which I had a satisfying amount of practice with both revolvers and pistols, and though I very much liked the semi-automatic, I've been told repeatedly that if I want to get my own handgun my first should be a revolver.

Though I'm probably a little under average in hand and arm strength I handled both rented handguns pretty well, which to me says that although I don't want something massively heavy I also don't need to look for something particularly light.

I am also not at this time planning to file for a license to carry concealed weapons nor am I planning to carry the gun much at all except possibly to a range, so I'm willing to sacrifice size for other qualities.

The first priority use of this gun would be for recreational target practice in the woods behind my home. However there is a danger in the area of aggressive black bears. When we first moved here we purchased a shotgun for self-defense but it's very loud, heavy, and difficult for me to manipulate, so it would be nice if I knew my revolver was strong enough to deter such an attack.

Most importantly I would like something easy to maintain with good accuracy for target shooting. And, of course, ideally not too expensive.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

In addition, is it worth it for me to drive a long distance (an hour to 90 minutes) to a gun dealer or should I consider purchasing a gun online?

You can choose one automatic and one wheelgun
Mine:
My .45 Colt Commander (steel frame, of course).

My Colt Trooper MkIII (not as pretty as a Python, but it's damned accurate!)

I'm looking for a handgun and I have pretty much gotten it down to these 3 models: Beretta Px4 Storm .40; FN fnp .40; Springfield xd .40. Which would you choose and why? I can't make up my mind.

When you interview for a job, here is a hint: make sure you know what the job is. Joe Biden failed that test last Thursday. He couldn’t even get right what a vice president does, but the media didn’t notice.

The media is all over itself about how smart and experienced Biden is. Political analyst Charlie Cook is quoted in the Washington Post on Saturday as saying “Biden is clearly so much more knowledgeable, by a factor of about a million.” Saturday Night Live does a skit about Biden being smart, if slimy. Meanwhile, Governor Sarah Palin is treated as being nothing more than a simpleton.

Yet, take Biden’s statement from the debate on the role of the vice president:

Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president we've had probably in American history. The idea he doesn't realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that's the Executive Branch. He works in the Executive Branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.

The Constitution is explicit.

The only authority the vice president has from the legislative standpoint is the vote, only when there is a tie vote. He has no authority relative to the Congress. The idea he's part of the Legislative Branch is a bizarre notion invented by Cheney to aggrandize the power of a unitary executive, and look where it has gotten us. It has been very dangerous.

One should be careful when throwing around terms such as “most dangerous” and “bizarre.” But Biden is confusing which part of the Constitution covers the Executive Branch (it is Article II, not Article I). More importantly, the notion that the vice president can preside over the Senate only when there is a tie vote is simply wrong. Nor is it true that the only legislative involvement the vice president has is to break tie votes. The vice president is the president of the Senate, where he interprets the rules and can only be overridden by a vote of 60 senators.

Early vice presidents spent a lot of time in the Senate. Thomas Jefferson even spent his time writing “A Manual of Parliamentary Practice: for the Use of the Senate of the United States.” Modern vice presidents may show up only when they think tie votes will occur, but that is their choice.

This isn’t rocket science. The Constitution on this point is very straightforward: “The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.”

Instead, it was Palin who got it right. Besides correctly stating that the vice president holds positions in both the executive and legislative branches, she also noted that:

Of course, we know what a vice president does. And that's not only to preside over the Senate and [I] will take that position very seriously also. I'm thankful the Constitution would allow a bit more authority given to the vice president if that vice president so chooses to exert it in working with the Senate and making sure that we are supportive of the president's policies and making sure too that our president understands what our strengths are.

But just as the vice president’s job includes more than simply being ready to assume the presidency if the president dies, the Constitution merely states what the vice president’s minimum responsibilities are.

Compare the uproar over Palin’s answer to Charlie Gibson about the “Bush Doctrine,” a doctrine that Gibson clearly didn’t understand and for which there apparently exist at least four different versions. Where is the outrage over Biden not understanding what vice presidents do? For Biden, his inability to correctly say what vice presidents do was surely his “gotcha” moment.

Yet, this mistake during the debate was hardly unique. Biden got a lot of things wrong in the debate that are going unnoticed by the fact-check media. Take just a few:

-- Will McCain's health care proposals raise taxes? Biden says that McCain’s proposal will cost people money. The Tax Foundation finds that could easily be "roughly deficit-neutral over ten years."

-- Under an Obama Administration the middle class will "pay no more than they
Just wanted to see if the liberals actually read ALL the facts before they decide or if they are too lazy and dont care. As long as its absurd they will vote for it.

I thought of this question idk but i just want to see who you will choose.

Let say your ex boy/girl friend still likes you after you guys break up.
But your married already.

Your ex is crazy. and he is jealous and he wants you back.
And there is a day that your ex boy/girl friend got 2 handguns pointing to your mom and your husand

and say choose which one to die.

who will you pick? your mom or your husband/wife?

  1. Choosing a handgun requires a skill and information about all kinds of handguns and their pros and cons. Unless a person knows all that, he simply cannot effectively decide which handgun is best for his use. Nice article! Keep writing.
