Back in 2007, the pro legal immigration senators were able to filibuster the Dream Act by 8 votes. Some democrats that voted down the dream act were:
Mark Pryor (Ark.), Byron Dorgan (N.D.), Robert Byrd (W.Va.), Jon Tester (Mont.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Max Baucus (Mont.), Kent Conrad (N.D.) and Claire McCaskill (Mo.)
Many of the Republicans that voted "Yes" on bringing the Dream Act to a vote are now gone...like Larry Craig, Trent Lott, Norm Coleman. Thats right, these Republicans actually wanted the Dream Act, and they are gone.
So, do you think we still have enough votes to Filibuster amnesty?
Basically, according to my numbers, we could still beat Amnesty. If you look at recent votes, even McCain has been comming down harder on illegal immigration then he was before Ted Kennedy. Kennedy is gone now, btw. So according to my numbers, we could beat an Amnesty Bill. Does anyone have proof otherwise?
Many people who are 'in the know' believe that Paul Wellstone was murdered by plane crash before his election to Senate. Dirty tricks portrayed the Democrats as being insensitive to his death. Further, that vote manipulation by Diebold arranged that Walter Mondale (who was ahead by 8 points just before the election) would not have his votes counted.
Do you believe that someone could conspire to do these things to win an extra Republican seat in the US Senate?

WASHINGTON — In the last chapter of a stinging loss to now-Sen. Al Franken, Minnesota's Republican Party has sent the Democrat almost $96,000 to cover lawsuit costs.
Republican Party spokesman Mark Drake said a check was sent via courier Monday to Franken's campaign committee. It arrived Tuesday, the same day Franken took his oath for a seat held open during an eight-month recount and court fight.
Minnesota law required Republican Norm Coleman to reimburse Franken for some costs because the election lawsuit didn't change the outcome. The judgment excluded Franken's attorney fees.
The Republican and Democratic parties have each chipped in to help pay candidate legal bills.
The check included $872 in interest that accrued in the month since Coleman was ordered to pay up.
The Minnesota Democrat's swearing-in marked the end of an eight-month political and legal struggle and drew thunderous applause and a standing ovation in the Senate chamber. His presence gives Democrats 60 votes, enough to thwart possible Republican filibusters.
And why the DNC and all current Democrats holding Federal elective positions, like Speaker of the House and Majority Leader of the Senate) should not be prosecuted under it?
Evidence: Every day that Soetoro is allowed to illegally stay in office, we are crippled more and more and it will be more and more difficult to recover our country.
I was thinking over the holiday and came up with something. What it entails is trying to find a Federal prosecutor to file charges against the DNC for racketeering under the RICO act. Perhaps you know someone.
Christine Gregory Gov Washington State (D) was elected fraudulently by non-existent voters, all with the same listed home address, voted for her along with naturally a lot of dead people. This was fought by the Republicans for a short time, then like Minnesota "To not further divide bla bla bla" and then caved.
Tom Delay, Texas (R). Had false charges levied against him by a Democrat Prosecutor. The charges were bogus. After Delay had been attacked publicly and, he could no longer effectively handle his defense and his public office responsibilities, he resigned and the charges were dropped for lack of evidence or substance. Replaced with a Democrat.
Change names and states, same story. Now it's Ted Stevens (R) and Alaska. Another frivolous batch of law suits, to be dropped after Stevens is forced out of office. Vacated seat taken by a Democrat.
Norm Coleman/Al Franken Minnesota. Al Franken wins with fraudulent votes. More votes cast that registered voters. Secretary of State an obama plant. Republicans surrender with "To not further divide bla bla bla and caved."
Latest victim Sarah Paliln. Driven from office by Democrats filing frivolous charges constantly to cost her personal money and the state money to fight. Another example of abuse of the legal system to political purpose.
Obama a/k/a Soetoro began his illegal activity in Chicago in which he used members of the Black Panthers and ACORN to intimidate other Democrats to eliminate any opposition to his start with the seat in the Illinois senate. He has abused the legal system ever since including using the same tactics to reach the White House and change the scope of politics.
There is nothing to keep you from being the next victim. Except those of us attempting to stop the lawlessness that plagues our current legal and election system.
If this isn't evidence of "Racketeering Influenced Organized Crime" I don't know what is. In this case obama is just the figurehead. By naming the Democratic Party as a criminal organization, as I believe it qualifies for, we would be going after snakes head.
How can this country have "fair" elections when one party is consistently and regularly violating and abusing the election laws and the legal system for political purposes. And accross state lines.
Do we want multiple crime families vying for votes, or do we want to force the Democrat Party to follow the law and clean up their act so that there is a crime free election system?
This all began with Al Gore and the election in Florida in 2000. It has blossomed like prohibition in Chicago during the Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly days. We need to put a stop to it.
Is there anyone with the integrity, backbone, and guts to enforce the current law in this country? Or are we, as I contend, now living in a lawless society?
I was looking back on Minnesota's election, and I noticed an ad with his daughter Sarah talking about his accomplishments. I know that the Coleman family lost two children in infancy. Does anybody know how old the other kids are?
please give me examples for why norm coleman is not good. i am having a debate. i don't just want the fact that he delayed the election process. i want examples for how he did bad things for minnesota. thank you!
no miss mae i am not debating on the wrong side. al franken is a COMEDIAN. that was his JOB. Yes, coleman is a bad man. he is a slimeball. he is more concerned with himself than anything to do with mn. it has always been that way.
brokeback a-rod: i'm sorry, you are the one who is brainwashed. i choose not to live in fear, and have a real clue what is going on in the world. and most liberals do. if you consider that being brainwashed, than at least it means that i have a brain. unlike most conservatives...
i am having a discussion with someone on al franken vs. norm coleman. does anyone have more reasons why norm coleman is creepy, scary, evil and not a good guy? please give me real things he has done. thank you!
yes i know, al franken finally got seated. thank god. i knew coleman was a slimeball all along. i just want cited evidence, and more things he has done. not including delaying the election process. and that IS what he did...he has shown NO proof of his claims. ever.
I heard that Coleman was forced to stop trying to block the majority will on behalf of his 'Party'.
As far as I know there are no Jewish members in the GOP Senate and only Eric Cantor in the House. Are there any others I may be missing?
FYI--I'm Jewish and much too smart to be a Republican.
How is this relevant?
I guess you all need to brush up on history. Why is it relevant that there are Blacks or Latino's or Asians?
Explain.
He was a good man, an honest man and I speak for all decent Americans when I say, "Please Norm, for the love or your country, keep fighting and take it all the way to the Surpreme Court." Thank you.
Or was it "Liberal judges" this time?
Oh you Righties could not be more WRONG!!
I'm more woman than you girlie men can handle.
And I spoken to a couple of posters on the phone....feel foolish now??

Who will throw the biggest hissy fit; Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, or Rush Limbaugh?
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race.
The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.
Justices said Franken is entitled to the election certificate he needs to assume office. With Franken and the usual backing of two independents, Democrats will have a big enough majority to overcome Republican filibusters.
Al Franken supposedly defeated Norm Coleman by over 300 votes. Doesn't that sound suspicious to you?
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Republican Norm Coleman conceded to Democrat Al Franken in Minnesota's contested Senate race on Tuesday, hours after a unanimous state Supreme Court ruled the former "Saturday Night Live" comedian should be certified the winner.
Coleman announced his decision at a news conference in St. Paul, bringing an end to a nearly eight-month recount and court fight over an election decided by only a few hundred votes.
"The Supreme Court has made its decision and I will abide by the results," Coleman told reporters outside his St. Paul home.
Coleman, appearing relaxed and upbeat, said he had congratulated Franken, was at peace with the decision and had no regrets about the fight, which started almost immediately after the Nov. 4 election.
"Sure I wanted to win," said Coleman, who called the ruling a surprise. "I thought we had a better case. But the court has spoken."
He declined to talk about his future plans, brushing aside a question about whether he would run for governor in 2010.
Al Franken was once a professional comedy writer, and now Norm Coleman is a joke who doesn't know when to get off the stage.
Rhoda: Interesting I get an answer from someone with the name of a character on the Twin Cities-based "Mary Tyler Moore Show." I didn't know until after I posted this question that Coleman had finally conceded. Still, he waited far too long, so the question is still valid.
Rotorhead: You voted for Bush twice, didn't you? If so, that disqualifies you twice from calling anyone dumb. Particularly after the second time.
"Scott White is a legend... in his own mind"
Why are you so obsessed with him that you feel a need to yap a response, when you're too ignorant/cowardly to actually answer the question?
you claim that you "don't care"..yet almost every time you see me ask a question you squawk a response.
I feel embarrassed for you because you seldom manage to answer a question.
How did you get to be such a glutton for punishment?
The additional vote of Al Franken might prove to be the one needed to get things passed in Senate. Do you think he will help?
Or do you think Norm Coleman will start a case for another recount in the federal court?
To the folks who say he cheated, what evidence is there that he himself engaged in fraudulent behavior? Can you say, with certainty, that he lost the election? What do you have to back up that assertion? Do you have proof that Norm Coleman did in fact win more votes than Franken?
To the folks who say he won fair and square, how do you explain the irregularities that were reported? And for the purposes of doing everything we can to ensure that this was a fair and legitimate outcome, shouldn't the case go before the Supreme Court so that they can look over all the facts and make sure the right decision was made? Why or why not?
They didn't seem to have a problem in 2000 with Bush v Gore.
BTW: I agree that the ballot counting process in Minnesota was a huge clusterf-ck. Too bad that the Republican controlled House, Senate, and President didn't do anything to fix the broken voting system when they had ultimate control from 2002-2006.
If they had, this mess may have been averted and Coleman may have held his seat.
But now, it is clear that Coleman has lost and refuses to concede.
smellyfoot: They didn't until 2000.
Like has anyone won yet? and performing the duties they should be doing? And why do people like franken..hes a creep?
Does that mean the election will take place before the republican primary is resolved?
If you say yes, don't you think it's time Norm Coleman step aside and allow Al Franken to take the Senate Seat he won?
It's already over 7 months post election & he keeps losing the appeals- now he may take it to federal court. Do you think at this point he should concede or keep this going?
DmurderBYzeN...it's funny but not as funny as a filibuster proof congress
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Republican Norm Coleman must pay Democrat Al Franken $94,783 to cover court costs for his appeal of Minnesota Senate election results.
A Ramsey County court administrator entered the judgment Wednesday. It results from the two-month trial that ended with Coleman 312 votes short of Franken.
Minnesota law required Coleman to cover some of Franken's court costs because the race's outcome didn't change. The judgment excludes Franken's attorney fees.
The men have spent $50 million so far on their campaigns and legal fight over the November election. That's more than double the cost of the 2002 race when Coleman captured what had been a Democratic seat.
The Minnesota Supreme Court hasn't said when it will rule on Coleman's appeal.
for the love of god! why doesn't he realize that minnesota needs representation. and al franken won!!!
there comes a point when you are not fighting for the cause. you are fighting just to fight. that is what he is doing. even al gore went out with more class and grace in the presidential election. and he actually won!
Bethany J: where have you been? do you read the news? NORM is the one who wanted those "missing votes" counted. they didnt include them and yes they were mostly for franken. because he won...
If the roles were reversed, wouldnt the media be slamming the sore loser dragging this out?
Seems like this has been going on forever. I mean how long can it take to count votes?
What is the argument over now? Is there a valid complaint, or is it just sour grapes?
A lot are against Franken because he is a comedian, but I thought most senators are.
